I've been using Macs exclusively since 2001, and this is the first time I've purchased one that wasn't brand new. I was on a bit of a budget after my previous macbook pro was stolen, so I opted for a renewed Macbook Pro, because my laptop doesn't really get the same amount of use as my Mac Studio, I just use it to play around on. I read through the reviews, and the purchase seemed a little sketchy, however, I decided to buy it because the good reviews definitely outweighed the bad, and should anything go wrong, there's a somewhat generous return policy. My experience so far: The laptop was carefully packed, and included the correct charger (off brand, but I don't care about that). It booted up immediately and had the most recent version of Monterey installed. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked and how responsive it was - I mean, the computer is 6+ years old, I was expecting a beater..
This item I was very nervous to purchase because of so many reviews saying, “comes with the wrong charger, my battery isn’t working, won’t charge, blah blah blah…†which was true when the laptop go here, wrong charging cable and the battery was all over the place. But when I got the correct charging cable model (MacBook Pro 15†USB C charging cable) it started working perfectly! The only problem now is that the “N†key sticks and the period button. Haven’t updated it yet. I might soon!.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the computer. Despite the occasional issue with the keyboard, it has been a good investment and has served its purpose for my music and school work. It's also in good condition, with only a few minor scratches or dents..
100% worth the money. My laptop came in almost mint condition and looks brand new! The only "drawbacks" are there's a tiny scratch on the apple logo, and the 5 and 7 keys have to pushed down a little harder to use, but that doesn't matter because it runs amazing! Battery life is great, screen quality is awesome, Touch Bar has no issues whatsoever, this is the best way to do it if you're looking to buy a MacBook, but want to save money as well! :).
As a previous owner of a Mac Book Pro, I haven't had any problems with transferring my data to this new laptop. Everything aside from the keyboard works great! In fact, if it weren't for the keyboard, I would've given this product a 5 star rating. My keyboard, on the other hand, is wonky. There are quite a few keys I would press once and would create double letters or double spacing. For someone who types a lot, it's quite a nuisance. I'm hoping it's a minor problem that can be fixed with a simple reboot..
I'm writing this review after 2 months' use of my MacBook. I was reading reviews everywhere and searched online to see where I could buy a used MacBook but that would be useful. Mind you my last MacBook was bought in 2011 so I definitely could not work on that one. Way too slow. Decided to research and I've always liked the touch bar on the 2016 MacBook pro. I wanted to upgrade without spending too much and this was a perfect choice. Con: if you enjoy quiet keyboards, this MacBook is not for you. I don't mind because I have another keyboard anyway that connects to this, but I like the clickity-clack. Pros: all the good things you could think of a MacBook. Shipping was great, flawless, with no scratches, and everything works perfectly..
Good price and product
